There are several key areas in which wood is used for interior design
With the resurgence in popularity of wood as an interior design material, older products made from wood are coming back into fashion, and products which have been ever popular remain so. Typically wooden furniture has always been popular. FSC wooden furniture is definitely where it's at now, with companies like Warren Evans making FSC beds, and treehugger has a great article on USA FSC tables and chairs. We'll go into wooden furniture in more detail with forthcoming news and product reviews.
Other key areas for sustainable interior design products made from wood include the ever popular wooden shutters with some shutter companies forging ahead with sustainable products, USA companies offering similar sustainable plantation shutters and once again we'll be focussing on suppliers of FSC plantation shutters over time.
Flooring is one of the major areas in interior design which has the perfect application of wood and meets ideally with this material. FSC wooden floor suppliers can be found on the FSC website here although there are limited resources available from South America so watch out.
Sculptures and ornaments made from wood, or lets call them decorative interior design products include wooden mirror frames, sculptures, candle sticks and a multitude of other interior design products will also be detailed together with suppliers of responsibly farmed plantations. When we actually look deeper in the home we see a multitude of these types of homewares, fruit bowls, salad spoons and so on.
New trends in wooden kitchens will be featured with many suppliers now investing in FSC certified wood for their interior products. We're pleased to see companies like B&Q offering FSC kitchens as well as their wooden shutters. Wooden worktops for the kitchen as well as many other kitchen related cabinets and more will be listed here as we extend our resource for interior design products made from wood. We'd love to have our visitors call back so please sign up for our newsletter to stay in touch and hear about new sustainable products as we release information periodically. Wood has a wealth of applications for interior products, however there are limited suppliers of environmentally friendly suppliers. This will take time to expand so do sign up and call back!
